Itinerary
After breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, embark on the trip to Murchison Falls National Park in the north of Uganda, about 5 hours drive. You traverse through the undulating hill slopes of Nakasongola before branching off at Nakitoma for 7 km to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary just 176km north of Kampala. Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch is the proud home of the only wild rhinos in Uganda following their extinction and thus offers an unforgettable Rhino tracking experience. Ziwa is the only place where you will be able to see rhinos in the wild. Presently the sanctuary is home to over twenty (20) southern white Rhinos. After a walking safari, you will continue on the drive to Murchison Falls National Park and visit top of falls where the park derives its name from.
Diner and Over night stay at CHOBE Safari Lodge
After breakfast, head out for a morning game drive where you will have a chance to spot early risers and nocturnal species before they return to their hideouts. This is the most beautiful national park in Uganda because it hosts 4 of the big 5 animals and also it’s home to one of the most beautiful and powerful falls.
Today you will have a chance of viewing some of the Park’s residents including lions, giraffes, Jackson’s hartbeests, antelopes, buffalo, elephants and many more animals found in the park.
For the birders, you will enjoy a cock tail of them as these areas support the secretary bird and the black chested snake eagle, to name a few.
In the afternoon, go for a boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls, where the Nile thunders through a small 7 meter gorge plunging 43 meters into the Nile on the way to Lake Albert.
After the cruise, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Chobe Safari Lodge
After breakfast, the safari continues with transfer to Kibale National Park. This park is highly alluring to nature lovers for its excellent chimpanzee trekking and bird watching. It boosts of the highest total of primates such as velvet, red-tailed, L’Hoest’s and blue monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey, red Columbus, olive baboon and chimpanzee.
Lunch, Diner and Overnight Stay at Primate Lodge Kibale
Enjoy your breakfast, proceed to the park office for briefing. The highlight of Kibale Forest will be the chimpanzee trekking tour. While in the forest expect to see at least 2-3 other types of primates most especially grey- cheeked mangabey and red tailed monkey. You will hear plenty of birdsong. The guides are knowledgeable and will identify various medicinal plants, bird calls and animal spoor. Once you allocate the chimpanzees, you will be allowed an hour with them. You return to the lodge for lunch, thereafter you will head out for Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge
Kindly note, after the Chimp trekking and lunch, we will head out for a community walk tour where you will get a chance to visit a local primary school, visit the local people and get to learn how to make mats, coffee, beer and so much more.
You can bring items to donate to the school.
After a healthy breakfast, go for early morning game drive though the park, look out for members of the big five including lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopard, other mammals such as giant forest hogs and antelopes. You will return to the lodge for lunch.
Later for an Evening game drive.
Lunch, Dinner and Overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Ishasha sector which harbors decent concentrations of hippos, elephants, buffalo and antelopes. After the drive, you will drive to Bwindi arriving in Time for Lunch. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to the endangered mountain gorillas.
Lunch, Dinner and overnight stay at Silverback Lodge Buhoma
After an early breakfast, you will take packed lunch, have a briefing by the game guides at the park headquarters and start your gorilla trail. Hiking through the thick, verdant, rainforest to eventually come across the gorillas in their natural habitat, which is an amazing and unforgettable experience. This encounter takes between 2 to 5 hours and is the highlight of an Africa exploration safari. You will only have 1 hour of close contact with these calm gentle apes, take pictures and get acquainted to them.
After this encounter transfer back to the Lodge for relaxation or you can do a community walk tour in Buhoma as you support the locals and get to learn more about the area.
Lunch, Dinner and Overnight Stay at Silverback Lodge Buhoma
In the morning, you will set off a scenic drive to Lake Mburo national park, reaching in the afternoon for lunch. After lunch, go for afternoon game drive, where you will be rewarded with view of hippos, crocodiles, as well as a variety of bird species, Zebras, warthogs, buffalo, giraffes, eland and many other animals found in the park . Early breakfast, head out for the last game drives around the park after which You will then exit the park and proceed to Entebbe airport for your connecting journey back home. You will also make a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe for an amazing photo session for memories. END
